The Museum of Foreign Literature and Science, started in 1822, was part of a trend in publishing international opinions and reviews both due to growing public interest and because the original copyright holders were often not paid royalties. Aside from the reviews and discussions of English works there were high quality engravings. The Museum merged with the American Eclectic, to form the American Eclectic and museum of literature, science, and art in 1843.
