Signed in print and dated 30 de Agosto de 1815. Domingo French (1783-1825) -name spelled incorrectly in the title- was an Argentine revolutionary, appointed lieutenant colonel by the Viceroy Santiago de Liniers in 1808 after the English invasion. During the May Revolution, he had led 600 men along with Antonio Luis Beruti at the Plaza de Mayo, and afterward, French created the infantry corp 'America.' With the end of a short exile, he returned in 1812 and took part in the seige of Montevideo in 1814 and then in 1815, as shown in this broadside, he sent his troops to Alta Peru to help the Army of the North in its struggles with the Spanish loyalists. "Corramos, pues, amados companeros, a ponernos entre las filas de aquellos campeones, para dar el ultimo testimonio al mundo entro, de que nuestras vidas las miramos en poco, cuando la guerra se hace por la libertad, e independencia el territorio americano..." Furlong thought it important enough to provide a reproduction in his 'Historia Y Bibliograpfia de las Primeras Imprentas Rioplatenses' (IV, p. 624). OCLC shows three copies: JCB, Berkeley, BN Chile.
