Folding card with mounted oval portrait of McKinley, bordered in silver and purple ribbon bow on front, State of New York engraved seal within. Dated February 12, 1902. An invitation with RSVP card for a commemoration for the recently assassinated president. The commemorative address was to be delivery by Charles Emory Smith at a joint session of the New York Senate and Assembly on March 4th, 1902. Eventually a tribute would be published "Proceedings of the Senate and Assembly of the State of New York on the life, character and public services of William McKinley: March 4, 1902" which ran 66 pages.
