Hank Greenberg (1911-1986) one of the great baseball players of the 1930s and 1940s, narrowly missing breaking Babe Ruth's home run record. He created a controversy in 1934 when he decided not to play on the Jewish High Holy Days. He played for the Tigers, after turning down the Yankees, and Pittsburgh, and then was General Manager of the Cleveland Indians, at which time this card was signed and mailed (Mar. 25, 1953) to a fan in New York.
