"Be it resolved by the Legislative Assembly of New Mexico, That the Congress of the United States is hereby respectfully memorialized and requested to pass laws reserving the wood and timber on the mountains and all other untillable lands, for the common use of the people, and to reserve such mountains and lands from sale or individual appropriation; also, to reserve all salt lakes, salt mines, or salt springs, in like manner, and that the laws of Mexico on the subject of mines and mining be declared and perpetuated.
