Signed by the author on the title page, who was assistant curator as well as the daughter of the donor of a collection of 919 sword mounts to the museum. In addition to the coverage of early types of swords, Ken ad Tachi, through all the major schools and smiths, there is list of signatures, names of artists, families, and localities as well as a discussion of restoration.
