This collection reproduces fourteen of the Lincoln Dioramas of the Chicago Historical Society depicting important events in the life of Abraham Lincoln. Initiated by Historical Society president Charles B. Pike in 1939 as an addition to the historical rooms and galleries created in 1932, the diorama events were carefully researched and built by employees of the Museum Extension Program, sponsored by the WPA during the Great Depression.
