Three quarter calf over marbled boards, raised bands, six gilt decorated compartments,with red morocco title label and black morocco volume label, top edge gilt, marbled endpapers, sewn-in red silk bookmark. First edition thus. Spines a bit darkened, extremities rubbed, some scuffing to spines, volume labels chipped, one nearly gone, one title label heavily chipped, bindings tight, leaves crisp and clean, overall still a very good set but for the chipped labels.
