Montevideo: Asociacion de Impresores y Anexos del Uruguay, 1950. 29 pp. + plates. Illus. with 22 color plates (3 folding) and 5 b/w plates. 4to. Paper wrappers with spiral binding. First edition. A very good copy with faint soiling on wrappers, plain cardboard slipcase lacking top edge and much worn. Item #35807
No. 212 of 800 copies (issued not for sale but for association members, public libraries and public authorities), with the card of Julio Speroni Vener (Bibliotecario del Ministerio del Interior), who wrote one of the articles, entitled "Los precursores de la bibliografía uruguaya," tipped in. A second article, "La Imprenta de la Patria Vieja, 1815-1816," was by Juan E. Pivel Devoto. Many portraits, advertisements, some items printed on clear sheets, overall an interesting item and somewhat unusual; in the U.S. only a partial copy, the article by Speroni Vener, is shown by OCLC, at Texas. Also a copy is at Biblioteca de la AECI in Spain.
