Address of the Republican State Committee, to the Electors of the State of New-York.
n.p. n.p., n.d. [1858]. 8 pp. (one folded sheet). 8vo. Disbound. First edition. One leaf separated, dampstain to one corner, soiling, several small tears on edges, still a good copy. Item #36063
Includes three sections: (1) Address of the Republican State Committee, to the Electors of the State of New-York signed by the Republican State Central Committee; (2) The State Tax, Its History and Necessity. All Parties Responsible for It; and (3) The Appeal of the Republicans of the Free West! to the Republicans of the Empire State, a campaign document arguing for New York to keep its rightful place as a strong Free State and to ignore the fact that the Republicans had raised taxes to pay for the continued construction of the New York canal system, a fact that the Democrats were using against them. Points out that the issue is a diversion from the real issue of the day, slavery and its spread. An apparently unrecorded work, with no copies located in OCLC nor NUC.
