The paper endorsed Henry Clay for President and John Sergeant for VP, against Andrew Jackson with a long article by Charles Voorhies. $5 reward for runaway shoe making apprentice. Started in 1796 as Centinel of Freedom; named changed in 1823 to Sentinel of freedom, and New-Jersey advertiser through 1832, then Sentinel of freedom through 1913.
