Friedrich Maximilian von Klinger (1752-1831), one of the few authors of the time who came from a humble background, burst on the scene in 1776 with his tragedy "Die Zwillinge," taking a prize offered by the Hamburg theater, under the auspices of the actress Sophie Charlotte Ackermann. His play "Sturm und Drang" written the same year gave its name to this literary epoch. This copy from: Theatralische Sammlung. Wien, 1791.
