November 5th, 1799, with integral address on verso. Jared Ingersoll (1749-1822) writes to Robert Gilmore & Co., of Baltimore, one of the more important trading firms, apologetically, to follow up on some old business from 1790.

Philadelphia-born statesman Jared Ingersoll (1749-1822) was at this time, serving as Pennsylvania Attorney General, a position he held twice, and was also a delegate to the Continental Congress, and a signer of the United States Constitution.
