December 6th, 1798. Receipt of payment received by Jonas Brewster from Abraham Stage, signed (witnessed) by John Suffern (1741-1836), Revolutionary War soldier in the Orange County Militia. Suffern later led the establishment of Rockland County out of Orange County, where he became the postmaster of the first Post Office in the newly formed county, as well as the county judge and a State senator in 1800-1803.

Jonas Brewster was a businessman who would purchase the Hasenclever Mine (Harriman State Park, Rockland Co.) the following year.
