August 13, 1862, estimate from carpenters & builders, Ackert & Quick, to E.F. Shonnard for extensive work to furnish his estate, totaling $320.00, including over 400 feet of partitions. 13 doors, 40 tables 2- 4 ft long, 80 benches 12 feet long, 50 ft slate flooring, 200 feet of shelving, a dumbwaiter.

Edward Frederick Shonnard (1810-1875) and family were one of the most important families in Westchester and Yonkers. His son Frederick Shonnard (1841-1911) "was studying law when the civil war broke out He organized a company among his classmates and served through the war, returning with the rank of Major and was for nine years President of the Board of Education. His daughter was the famous artist Eugenie F. Shonnard. Shonnard's vast estates came from land granted to him by King George III, and were eventually developed as a housing estate known as Shonnard Park.

Ackert & Quick were well known builders in Yonkers during the 1860s.
